Smart Materials Laboratory

Smart Materials Laboratory is committed to advancing innovative materials for sustainable energy and environmental technologies.Through fundamental research and materials engineering, we strive to create solutions for future global challenges.

Research & Initiatives

Smart Materials Laboratory focuses on the synthesis and design of metal-based materials, carbon materials, and their composites. We investigate how synthesis conditions and processing routes influence composition, crystal structure, morphology, porosity, and surface properties, using various approaches including molten-salt, hydrothermal, and solvothermal synthesis.

These materials are mainly explored for environmental applications, particularly catalysis, advanced oxidation, and pollutant removal, with selected studies in electrochemical energy storage. In parallel, we develop measurement methods and international standards for the reliable characterization of carbon materials.
